Letter from our Principal – November 2014

Sage Canyon ElementaryDear Sage Canyon Community,

First and foremost, thank you so much for the success of both Harvest Day and Spookfest.  Our school was definitely an exciting place to be on Friday, Oct. 24. It was so wonderful that both events brought our fabulous community together again. I know that I speak for the entire staff when I tell you that we all feel so lucky to work in a community where we are so supported and where everyone comes together in the best interest of kids. Sage Canyon is a very special place, and it is largely because of our dedicated parental community.

It is the time of  year when Apple Award Nominations are open.  The Apple Award recognizes all of the incredible teachers around the district and crowns an elementary and secondary teacher of the year. Every year, we are able to take a classified employee and a certified employee as building nominees to a very special awards ceremony that honors all of the amazing educators in our district. The nominees are selected from nominations from students and parents, and then by a vote from staff.
The following teachers and staff members have represented Sage Canyon at the Apple Awards since we opened:

  • 2011 – Kelly Reseigh
  • 2012 – Mandy Hill and Sue Merritt
  • 2013 – Keely Vaughan and Ann Braccia (Keely was a finalist for the award.)
  • 2014 – Stephanie Crowe and Cheryl Kuchwara

Please consider nominating one of the amazing employees in our building. All nominations are given to the employees, and it definitely makes their day. Nominations can be found at www.dcefcolorado.org.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Sage Canyon.
Take care,
Mandy Hill
